Is it fair to call Kim Davis a hypocrite

Non-Christians just simply cannot  understand the following scripture verse.

“For by grace are you saved through faith – not of works lest any man should boast.”  Eph. 2:8-9

Why can’t they understand this simple but profound verse?  Because they walk in unbelief – void of the Spirit of God who gifts the Christian with spiritual understanding when they get saved. 

Look how the secular media vilifies County Clerk Kim Davis for her refusal to marry same-sex couples – quickly pointing out that Mrs. Davis has been divorced not just once but three times.   Hypocrite they declare self-righteously!  Ignoring the fact that her divorces were before she was saved and became a Christian.

But what they don’t understand is that Christ came for people who have been divorced three times.  Broken people!   He came for the man who is addicted to pornography.  By grace, Jesus came to set the captive free.  And such were some of you says God in His word.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”John 3:17.

Admittedly, not everyone who says they are a Christian is truly saved.  Therefore, the persons who say they are Christian but really aren’t – don’t have the spirit working within them – they therefore aren’t equipped to be disciples of the Jesus Christ.    

Is it fair to call Kim Davis a hypocrite?   Do you have enough information to make such a determination?   I sure don’t.

I do know this.  I have very high regard for Mrs. Davis for her stand on Christian convictions.  What is keeping her strong?  As a Christian, it sure appears to me that she has learned to draw great strength from God.

This I do know.  I don’t walk perfectly either and never will this side of heaven.   However, I’m not the man I used to be and thank God He’s not finished with me yet.
