Rep Trey Gowdy exposes some of Eric Holder’s discretionary overreach in the memorandum he issued regarding withholding the amount of drugs involved in arrests and convictions. Holder’s directive makes it difficult for judges to ascertain the proper sentence under mandatory guidelines, as well as, according to Gowdy, creating some precarious legal situations.
