At the National Governors Association, President Barack Obama spoke in the State Dining Room of the White House on Feb. 24, 2014, in Washington, D.C.
During his speech, President Barack Obama indicated that he would take a more confrontational approach with the governors. He rejected the request of Republican governors for increased latitude on a variety of issues, and even threatened Republicans that he would strike back if they complained about budgetary cuts to the National Guard. So much for holding hands and singing “Kumbaya.”
