In defense of marriage – ADA’s interview on local news outlet

Natural marriage is being attacked in many states and Michigan is no exception. Voters in Michigan have already voted against homosexual “marriage,” amending our state constitution to define marriage as what it is – the union of one man and one woman.  Yet one lone federal judge will now determine the fate of marriage in Michigan. 

I was asked by WZZM channel 13 to speak on the stance of those who promote natural marriage in light of the trial which began yesterday regarding Michigan’s Constitutional Marriage Amendment.

WZZM stated that there were few who would speak out on this issue and were grateful that I would give them an interview.  I pointed out that people may be reluctant to interview on this topic because too often they are vilified by the media instead of being presented in an objective manner.

In the 10 minute interview, I did my best to point out that marriage is not a man-made institution to be changed at whim, but was designed by our Creator.  That there are consequences, both individually and as a nation, for those who rebel against God.  When asked my opinion on why the tide has turned on these issues, I made the point that Christians aren’t the bullies – it’s been the media and entertainment industry which have relentlessly pushed homosexuality upon our culture, and I gave warning that what we place before our eyes will impact us.

Understandably, with limited air time, not all of my comments were aired. In a day when the media often misrepresents those who take a stand for Biblical principles, I’d like to thank WZZM for their fair coverage and accurate portrayal of my interview with them.

Also, please join us in prayer for Michigan’s Attorney General who is defending Michigan’s Marriage Amendment and for the federal judge whose decision could overrule this established law. We pray that “Justice” will indeed be blind and a decision will be made solely on the law and not swayed by emotional appeals and personal ideology.
