Feminist Actress Says Beyonce Is ‘Selling Sex … to Teeny-Boppers’, Decries Sexualized Culture

 Comedian Lily Tomlin, a noted feminist, critiqued famed singer Beyonce in a recent interview with an LGBT outlet, noting that she believes the singer is “selling sex … to teeny-boppers.”

Her comments came after PrideSource reporter Chris Azzopardi asked what Tomlin, 74, thinks of Beyonce as a “modern example of feminism.”

“You mean Beyonce’s total use of her body? Is that what you mean?,” Tomlin asked.

Azzopardi went on to clarify that some see the singer “as a feminist, as somebody who embraces herself as a powerful woman” and asked for the actress’ thoughts on the matter.

“Yeah, well, I think that’s great, and what can I say? She is a pretty popular woman and she’s married to a very powerful man, but she’s still selling sex,” Tomlin responded. “She’s selling a lot of sex to teeny-boppers. I don’t know. Who are her fans? Everybody?”
