A Time for Prayerful Action!

By: American Decency Staff

Recently, a friend of this ministry stated:   “The reason I like you guys is because you don’t compromise principle to increase donor support.”

That tends, however, to position us as “a voice crying in the wilderness.”  Nonetheless, that remains our calling as we seek to respond to the role God has blessed us with and given us as a responsibility.

At times, we especially wait upon the Lord as we see giving trends going in a unfavorable direction and then we stand amazed as God moves in His time – as He wills – not as we will. His amazing grace has once more been shown: An anonymous donor has extended a year end challenge of $20,000. Here are his words;

God has continued to bless us so we will do a matching grant up to $20,000 for all new and increased giving you receive by 12/31/14. New givers are any givers who haven’t given since 12/31/12. Increased giving is anyone who has given more than last year but the additional amount must be after the matching gift is announced. E.g. Joe gives $1000 in 2013. In 2014 Joe gives $1500 in August–none of that would qualify. If Joe gave a $1,000 in August and $500 more in October, the $500 in October would qualify for the match.

These are very serious times. Your time, monies, talents are valuable and precious in God’s sight. We have great sensitivity to this knowing that the times are tough – in many cases very tough.

Many of you receiving this have stood with us for one reason or another. Here are a few: As the person commented at the top of the page, we don’t compromise principle for financial gain. There is so much pressure to tone down – to always say the politically correct thing. We at ADA don’t hold our proverbial “finger to the wind” to see which way the world is trending to decide what we are going to say and/or do. You are a kindred spirit with us. You trust our walk with God and our desire to be His instruments as He leads. You support our faithfulness and trust that it is our desire to rightly handle the word of God and to use your financial gifts with integrity.

I want you to know that even in the writing of a letter like this we long for God’s help. While we are flawed, we DO seek to please and honor Him. We are not a money-raising machine storing away funds.   We use your support, as we receive it, to stay in the battle and to press forward.

Whether you give toward the match challenge or not over these months, I humbly ask you to do all that you can to stand with us as generously and faithfully as possible. Please keep us in your heart and prayers, and please remember us financially as regularly as possible. (As you review the details of the match challenge above, call Kimberly at 1-231-924-4050 with any questions you may have.)

In closing, we stand in need of your immediate giving and your faithful support in the months ahead. This is a time for prayerful action!
