A few years ago I worked very closely with a state representative to pass obscenity legislation in the state legislature in Michigan.
The state representative was known to be a Christian, and, he demonstrated it in every way. His words without exception matched his actions. Against incredible odds, the bill was passed and was signed into law by the Michigan governor of that day.
But make no mistake, even in that day (the 1990s) there were many evidences of skullduggery at a wide variety of levels. Yet, many of us fought on and made the difference!
It helped, though, that we were led by a really good man!
To be led by honorable people is a huge blessing! Sadly, however, there are many who are not honorable – not honorable at all.
However, today as we go to the polls there are some outstanding people at a variety of levels running for office. May God bless them through the trials and tribulations of this day!
Some may win and some may lose after having fought long and hard. I think even right now of a couple who are expected to be engaged in uphill battles throughout the day. Those of you in position to come alongside them – if they lose – comfort, encourage, and thank them for their great efforts. Encourage them onward! We and they must not give up!
One last thought in regard to today’s election. There do come those times where a good old-fashioned “house cleaning” is of great necessity. Now is one of those times!
I would like to point out individuals whom I think should be cleared out, but that is not the purpose of this email.
The purpose of this email is to say“Get behind those who are honorable” and do your utmost to clear out those who you know are not!
As Steve Hayes of The Weekly Standard writes:
“… Not only is this election not about nothing, it is being fought over exactly the kinds of things that ought to determine our elections.
It’s about the size and scope of government. It’s about the rule of law. It’s about the security of the citizenry. It’s about competence. It’s about integrity. It’s about honor. …”
I may be only one. You may be only one, but let us not allow cynicism, laziness, lethargy, or lame excuses keep us from doing what Christian citizens do – EXERCISE THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE!
I did. I hope you will too! Now I’ll watch, wait, and pray.
May God bless you and may God bless America!
