What a blessing it is to see fathers who put their children before sports and games.

You will reap what you sow.  This is more than just an old saying.

What farmer in planting corn expects to harvest wheat.

Though it is true that despite ones best efforts as a parent, things don’t always end up as we would like – at least in the short run.

However, God has called us to be faithful – we are to shepherd our children.

Consider these words from Deuteronomy 6:

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.⁷ You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. ⁸ You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. ⁹ You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Fathers:  Shepherd your children!
