P——-phy Lies and Truth

Pornography Lies and Truth

Lie:  Pornography is a victimless crime.
Truth:  Pornography DOES victimize.  It victimizes in a wide variety of ways.
Let me name just a few:  (1) Pornography desensitizes.  As a person begins to dabble with pornography they get to the point where they are deadened to that particular image and they seek something more erotic and then more erotic and then on and on it goes.  (2) Pornography addicts.  As a person permits something into his eye gate, it acts as a stimulant and the person wants to return to that image and/or seek something beyond that particular image, video, etc.. (3)  There are individuals upon being stimulated by pornography that do act out – i.e. rape, incest, molestation, assault.  (4) Pornography does destroy.  Individuals die at the hands of pornography.  One such practice is called erotic asphyxiation.  It is basically using pornography in such a perverse way that a person’s breathing is cut off and they are suffocated.

Lies:  What’s pornographic to one person may be art to another.

Truth:  Pornography –  the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement. (Miriam-Webster Dictionary)

Lie: Pornography is in the eyes of the beholder.

Truth:  Note the definition above.  This lie is often articulated to bring confusion to the issue, to deflect.  No.  The definition above is quite capable of identifying what pornography is and what its intended purposes are.

Some of you reading this are addicted to pornography.  There is no question about that.  Pornography is silently, behind the scenes damaging many, many people.  There are married couples whose relationships are stunted in every way because of trust factors degraded and destroyed by pornography use and addiction.

Some of you need to talk.  You need someone to listen to your hurt and need.  If this would be you, please take a moment and either call me or email me.  This is no gimmick.  I won’t at any point, be asking for your credit card or checkbook.  It’s about trying to help.  Read my testimony again.  See: https://americandecency.org/full_article.php?article_no=1810

Words from our readers:

The following comments came in response to my email alert yesterday entitled:

“My Testimony regarding p———phy”
https://americandecency.org/full_article.php?article_no=1810

** I personally loved your story because it’s a story of God’s utter grace and healing. Privately, I can tell you that my husband has battled the same problem.  He became attached to images like Farrah Fawcett posters in high school, like so many boys.  But it progressed from there and the problem became known after we married.  After catching him a few times and addressing it, God gave him the grace to conquer it, but it did take time.  He has learned like you to change channels.  As a woman I learned that it’s not personal against me (it feels like it when the problem is first exposed) but it’s a sin problem where the enemy feeds off the man’s visual stimulation and then addiction begins….followed by shame. God showed me that women have weaknesses that the enemy can prey on as well, and that I must not be judgmental or I will become weak to sin myself.

God had to grow us both up over the years, but I am thrilled to announce He is a God of grace, forgiveness and healing.  We cannot be holy without Him and His help.

Your story was such a breath of fresh air to me…you were humble, but still called sin what it is.

Bless you brother,

** Thank you for your testimony…and thank you for the verses.  I have meditated on a couple of them previously and will place them where I will see them more often.  We don't watch television…but if we did…Colossians 3:17 should be on a sticky note right in the center of the screen   lifting you and your family up in prayer right now.

** Thank you, Bill!  A wonderful testimony to God's power and grace!

** Thank you so much for this article.  I'm glad to hear that there is hope for some. –Hopefully us….

** Thanks for sharing your testimony. It is awesome that the Lord delivered you and transformed your whole life and it is not surprising that you are now leading a ministry to help free others from porn addiction. Keep up the good work!

Your Sister in Christ,
