ABC’s Mistresses – Action Needed!

It seems that in this day and age of information overload, surveys are done to track any and every type of human behavior.  However, a recent report caught my attention. 

I recently read that while the percentage of married men who commit adultery has remained at the same level over the past twenty years, the percentage of women who admit to cheating on their husbands has increased by almost 40 percent in the last twenty years.

There are many cultural factors that would contribute to this finding – too many to discuss here – but one of those factors has to be the influence of shows such as ABC’s “Mistresses” which glorify and romanticize adultery and illicit sexual relationships.

However, as one writer stated when commenting about the show ABC’s Mistresses:

“The mistresses seem to contend that they’re as incapable as men of controlling their libidos. Rubbish.

We’re not animals.”

And in response to ABC’s offensive tag line promoting the show “you can’t help who you fall in love with,’’ Elaine Bradley , a drummer for the Utah-based band Neon Trees, tweeted:

“Um, you CAN choose to NOT sleep with a married man. Just sayin.”

Three weeks ago we singled out Red Robin who was becoming a regular sponsor of this disgusting show.  We were encouraged that Red Robin did not advertise after that for the next two episodes.  However, Red Robin was back on “Mistresses” this week.
