By Bill Johnson Pornography does destroy. How can anyone deny that? Yet, there are certainly those that do deny that. I taught 18 years in the public schools. One of my last years in teaching, I had a 4th grade student that, though she became very special to me, was very volatile. A few short years later I found out why. Her mother and this young lady told me and testified to the following: Her father had shown pornographic videos and told her this is what people do. He then acted out what he saw in the videos. The mother and the daughter were victims. The emotional pain that this caused has had implications for many, many years. Thankfully the father did get some jail time for this – but it was far too minimal and will never erase the degradation done to this family. Dr. Victor Cline reported in a 17 page report produced by Morality in Media based in New York City the following: “However, in my clinical experience, the major consequences of being addicted to pornography is not the probability or possibility of committing a serious sex crime (through this can and does occur), but rather its disturbance of the fragile bonds of intimate family and marital relationships. This is where the most grievous pain, damage, and sorrow occurs.â€Â For a pdf of Dr. Victor Cline’s account regarding Pornography’s effects on Adults and Children call the American Decency Association office toll free at 1-888-733-2326 or email us at info@americandecency.org and ask for the Cline report.
