Pornography does destroy. How can anyone deny that?

By: American Decency Staff

By Bill Johnson Pornography does destroy.  How can anyone deny that?  Yet, there are certainly those that do deny that. Before I left my full-time teaching position as a teacher in the public schools, I received a powerful letter from a mother in a rural area nearby writing to urge me to leave my position as a teacher to stand against pornography and its damaging effects. To make a powerfully sad story short, she wrote to tell me that her then husband and a friend of his brought into their home on more than one occasion Playboy magazines. She told them to get it out of her house.   She sent me a picture of these two men with mocking looks upon their faces. Months later there was an account in her local newspaper reporting that the friend of her then husband had been charged in the death of his young 14 month old baby daughter.  The baby died of infection and a broken pelvis. Dr. Victor Cline reported in a 17 page report produced by Morality in Media out of New York City the following:  Quoting: I have treated, over many years, approximately 300 sex addicts, sex offender, or other individuals (96% male) with sexual illnesses.  With only several exceptions, pornography has been a major or minor contributor or facilitator in the acquisition of their deviation or sexual addiction.
