Vogue magazine’s sexualizing of a 10-year old

By Bill Johnson The following story saddens and disgusts me.  It reminds me of the story of JonBenet Ramsey – the six year old American child beauty pageant contestant who met with an untimely death at the age of six. But shockingly the model in these highly sexualized pictures is only 10 years old. The provocative images of Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau, who is tipped as the next big thing on the fashion scene, are causing a storm of controversy with campaigners furious that a child so young should be displaying the sexual allure of someone twice her age. Thylane has appeared in numerous campaigns and her image is all over the internet. To date she has an impressive portfolio – the French girl has graced the cover of Vogue Enfants and posed for high-end editorials. Comments from readers: ** Her parents need to take responsibility for the fact they (are) sexualizing their daughter at 10 years old. Very strange indeed and it actually makes me feel quite sick. I'm cross that Vogue have done this – it is not okay for children to be used in such a way and there are some horrible perverts on the planet who will have a field day with this little girls pictures. ** So if people are just now getting appalled at this, why haven't the beauty pageants for 5-year-olds been banned?**It IS creepy and thoroughly disgusting.
