The world today is not a nice place for Christians. Christians in the Middle East are targeted for bombings and other violence.  Brothers and sisters in East Asia also are under persecution.  According to the organization Voice of the Martyrs, “More Christians are in prison or under detention in China than in any other country.â€Â In the West, we don’t have to worry about physical persecution, at least not yet, but day by day the attacks seem to be stronger.  It is a popular belief among “intellectualsâ€Â that you can’t be a Christian and be intelligent, or at least you can’t believe the Bible and be intelligent which amounts to the same thing.  In almost any arena where Christianity pops its head into public life, that head is quickly lopped off – i.e. manger scenes, Merry Christmases, the Ten Commandments, graduation prayers, street preachers, Franklin Graham’s speaking at the Pentagon, etc. Under all this pressure, it is refreshing to be reminded that there is an intellectual, fact-based argument for Christianity.  That argument is laid out with expertise and conviction by former investigative-journalist Lee Strobel. Strobel is an atheist-turned-apologist and the turning point in his life took place at the end of his own detailed search for the historical facts concerning the truth of the Bible. He has written several books which recount his interviews with various scholars concerning their individual areas of expertise. On March 12, American Decency Association is offering the exciting opportunity to be a part of a live Lee Strobel seminar called “The Case for Christianity.â€Â The seminar will be live via satellite and projected on the large screen at the ADA headquarters in Fremont, MI and goes from 10:30 – 4:30.  Admission is free. 1 Peter 3:15 tells all Christians to be ready to defend why they believe what they believe – yet most Christians don’t feel prepared to do so. This one day event will help participants walk away encouraged in their own faith and feeling more confident in discussing the claims of Christianity with friends, family members, and others. Bestselling authors Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg present the latest scientific and historical evidence for Christianity and answer the two biggest objections to the faith. Plus you can ask your own questions during this compelling interactive telecast. The seminar topics include: – The latest scientific evidence for God and historical evidence for Jesus’ divinity – Confronting why God allows pain and suffering (which is the biggest objection to Christianity that is raised by skeptics) – How Christians can deal with questions raised by unbelieving friends – And much more! This one day seminar is being offered by ADA free-of-charge. However, an email or phone call to register your desire to attend would be helpful in our planning.
