Mother undermines daughter’s conscience

By: American Decency Staff

My mother was a very beautiful woman.  Pictures that I have seen of her in her youth as a Chicago teenager made that abundantly clear.  One thing is very clear; she would never have flaunted her body. For many generations, this characteristic would have been true of a vast majority of American mothers and grandmothers.  Appearing nude or semi-nude in Playboy magazine is shameful whether the public perception changes or not – it is shameful.  It is prostituting yourself. I thank God for real mothers who model modesty and disciple their children in Biblical modesty and character. These few words were prompted by an article from “The Times of Indiaâ€ÂÂ  where a mother undermined the conscience of her daughter in regard to posing in the nude. Being photographed in the nude fosters self-pleasuring (masturbation).  Masturbation is addictive, as is lusting, leering and pornography addiction.   A woman who allows herself to be photographed in the nude (or in partial nudity) is contributing to the degeneration of untold numbers of others. I urge you to lovingly – stand firm mothers!  Be a woman of God! Here is the article entitled:  Kim upset by 'porn-like' magazine cover Socialite Kim Kardashian was seen in tears during an episode of ‘Kourtney and Kim Take New York’, after she discovered she had been featured in the nude on the cover of a magazine. Kim, 30, was very upset when she was shown a preview of her nude shoot for the front cover of W magazine, as she had been under the impression that the cover would be an arty photograph. But when she saw it, she said it amounted to “full on pornâ€Â, as along with the cover, which featured her naked with a few strips of text covering her modesty, the inside pages, showed her completely nude slathered in silver paint. “Oh my God, I’m more naked than I was in Playboy. I’m so mad right now. She promised I would be covered with artwork. You can see nipple,â€Â the Daily Mail quoted her as sobbing to her sisters. “The whole concept was sold to me that nothing would be seen. I feel so taken advantage of. “I’ve definitely learned my lesson. I’m never taking my clothes off again, even if it’s for Vogue,â€Â she was heard telling her sisters. She was then seen making an emotional phone call to her mother Kris Jenner in Los Angeles, who told her to “ownâ€Â the pictures and come out with her head held high. By the time the magazine came out, Kim had changed her mind, declaring she is “proudâ€Â of the pictures. “I’m glad I did them,â€Â she stated. http://m.timesofindia.com/entertainment/hollywood/news-interviews/Kim-upset-by-porn-like-magazine-cover/articleshow/7403818.cms If this area of concern is your concern too, we urge you to purchase the following resources for your study, reference and library. ================== Does God Really Care What I Wear? **How do I live Christianly? **How do I pursue holiness in all areas of life? **What is appropriate attire? What is not? **Should the church remain quiet in addressing modesty for fear that an unbeliever would be "turned off" and away from the gospel? A resource that we believe has a very positive impact in addressing these questions, and many more, is Nancy Leigh DeMoss' booklet,  "The Look – does God really care what I wear?" She also has produced via her radio broadcasts a series of cassettes and CDs that carry the same title. The titanic freedoms which we once enjoyed have been cut loose from their Christian restraints and are becoming a force of destruction leading to chaos. And when this happens, there really are very few alternatives. All morality becomes relative, law becomes arbitrary, and society moves toward disintegration. In personal and social life, compassion is swallowed up by self-interest. …"   Dr. Francis A. Schaeffer
