Moms across America are upset over Abercrombie & Fitch’s push-up bikini top

By: American Decency Staff

An update re: Abercrombie & Fitch.  Is A&F still marketing a “push-up/padded bikiniâ€Â to 8 year olds? On March 28,  our main topic of concern was:  “Abercrombie & Fitch Sparks Outcry With Padded Bikini Tops for 8-Year Olds.â€Â Many expressed disgust with A&F for their continued infatuation with sexualizing America’s youth and children. Here is how a few stated it: Do any of you who work for A&F have children?? I have never shopped at your stores because of its poor taste, darkness in that store, young sexy sales people, etc. Let little girls be little girls.  My family and I will not shop at your store.  How sickening. I have two young girls and we are disgusted by your advertising campaigns and nasty whorish clothing.  Please stop!!! It starts with putting 8 yr olds on display as sexual objects and the resulting need for harder and harder stimulation. It is the reason for the increase in kidnappings, rapes, domestic violence and human trafficking in the U.S. I will never, ever buy ANYTHING from Abercrombie & Fitch!! Nor should any decent, thinking parent. This is not about free speech or self-expression. It is about keeping our kids safe from those who would take advantage of their innocence. Laura Ingraham spent a solid 30 minutes and more discussing the sexualizing of America’s youth.  Many were urged to express moral outrage to Abercrombie & Fitch. A&F re-worked their advertisement wording, “… We've re-categorized the Ashley swimsuit as padded. We agree with those who say it is best 'suited' for girls age 12 and older….â€Â http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/03/30/abercrombie-fitch-removes-push-girls-bikini-description-following-outcry/#ixzz1IwrDVNwx So A&F changed their marketing from push up to padded and they changed  their targeted age from 8 year olds to twelve year olds. There has been some thought that they have pulled this child erotizing pushup or padded bikini. However, there was yet another journalistic story today coming out of Palm Beach entitled: “Moms across America are upset over Abercrombie & Fitch's push-up bikini top.â€Â http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/moms-across-america-are-upset-over-abercrombie-fitchs-1381491.html Below is a portion of the expose: “… This tiny little Abercrombie bathing suit that is now (literally) all the rage is adorable, and so flattering – especially with its firm, built-in padding sewn into each individual bra cup. I mean, what woman doesn't need a little extra support? Except, um. The top is designed for little girls. …â€Â Thankfully there are people like you out there who despite the day-in-day out pressures from sex entrepreneurs, you don’t give up or give in. Here again is what you can and should do: 1) Express your disgust -  notify A&F that you will be boycotting them, contact: https://americandecency.org/take_action_form.php?msg_id=94 Or write: Abercrombie & Fitch Mr. Michael Jeffries Chairman and Chief Executive Officer 6301 Fitch Path New Albany, OH  43054 Ph: 614-283-6500 Fax: 614-283-6710 Toll Free: 888-856-4480 MICHAEL JEFFRIES, CHAIRMAN AND CEO TO EMAIL A&F https://abercrombie.custhelp.com/app/ask/cookie_check/1
