Foxnews.com goes tabloid – continued

By Bill Johnson Last week we sent an email alert regarding Foxnews.com and their increasing propensity to include sleazy articles and images particularly on the section that is entitled “Feature and Faceâ€Â on their home web page. As you might expect, it did agitate a few of our readers.  We got a few more unsubscribes than usual. Nevertheless, there are many that felt this email was long overdue.  Foxnews IS guilty as charged.  They regularly feature sleazy images (and not just on their web news page). On the other hand there are several of you who recently received first emails from us who have indicated strongly that you do NOT want to receive our emails.  You think we are trying to trash Foxnews.com. That is not the case. We are thankful for their conservative perspective and commentary. We know that is one of the few places that we can turn to for a conservative perspective in a day where true journalism largely no longer exists. I will be unsubscribing those who have requested to be unsubscribed, but I wanted them to at least hear one more time that Foxnews.com fails us in that Foxnews.com uses eroticism on their webpage.  This flies in the face of Christian conservatives.  It is desensitizing, degrading and offensive. The fact that Foxnews.com has not yet toned down their sexual “newsâ€Â pieces in their “Features and Facesâ€Â columns gives indication that the sleaze portion is very much a part of them. Here are a few of the recent comments – some supportive of our stand, some not supportive. Email #1: Hello Bill, I too have been dismayed at FOX news and their deliberate “sex sellsâ€Â programming decisions.  Every day they have their flesh piece, be it Hugh Hefner’s birthday celebration (an annual event), Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, or and new scantily clad celebrity they wish to showcase. … FOX news has ridden the idea of limited government into the ground at the expense of moral restraint and the first charge of good government, that being public safety.  The toxic effects of the sexualizing of the culture via emerging technologies is inflaming Islamic religious reactions abroad and fraying the moral fabric of marriage, fidelity, purity and the loss of innocence of our children at home.  Thank you for speaking the truth Bill. Email #2: GET A LIFE!  Please do not send any more -will go right to spam Email #3: I have received several e-mails from you, but I don't know who you are!  I like Fox News, and get my news from them, sometimes from CNN.  But I too am getting disgusted with the sleazy items and advertisements.  Also, so much violence.  I may have to quit watching.
