A call to national prayer from Donald E. Wildmon

Those who would try to destroy our country will never be able to destroy God or His people who have His Holy Spirit residing within them.  Thanks be unto God for His amazing grace, truth and love! His truth is marching on.  Nothing that is happening in our great land surprises Him.  He has instructed His people to continue on learning of His ways and abiding in Him through the trials and tribulations of life. We aren’t to fret, give up, despair or quit but rather to live lives believing that God is working out His perfect plan through thick and thin.  And, He calls us to prayer. A man whom I respect and love sent me  (and others) the following email calling me to pray for “a nation in crisisâ€Â and to tell others.   Please read the following email from Don and join with us in praying, spreading the word and doing what you can to lift up prayer and be engaged as much as possible in these crisis days in our land. Prayerfully and sincerely, Bill Johnson July 22, 2011 Bill Johnson President American Decency Dear Bill: On Saturday, August 6, Christians from across the country will gather at Reliant Stadium in Houston to celebrate The Response: A call for prayer for a nation in crisis. Knowing how busy people are today, and the demands made upon the leaders, you probably will not be able to attend.  However, I do ask that you pray for The Response, that it will renew our recognition for our need of God. As you probably know The Freedom From Religion Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit to stop The Response prayer event.  FFRF is a small organization composed mainly of atheists. In light of the action by FFRF, I wanted to let you know that the event is being held in a private facility and funded by private donations. We must, and will, oppose FFRF’s action which seeks to take away our religious freedom provided under the First Amendment. I hope you can attend, but if not, I ask that you pray for success in dealing with the crisis in which our country finds itself.  Whatever you can do to publicize The Response would be appreciated.
