Sunday is Mother’s Day – a day to celebrate and give thanks for the godly women who have blessed our lives – mothers and grandmothers who told us of the love of Christ and taught us to walk in His ways, wives who shine forth God’s love within a home, living out Proverbs 31:10-31. “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.â€Â (Prov. 31:26) 1 Peter 3:3-4 reminds us that true beauty “should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." The hit TV show, and forthcoming movie, featuring the bedroom antics of women in their 40s and 50s and their much younger partners, is being credited with a rise in demand for lingerie from women of the same age, Debenhams said. The department store said a nationwide analysis of the most popular lingerie styles from October 2009 to April 2010, revealed that women over 40 have given the more seductive side of the lingerie industry a big boost. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/36852879/ns/today-today_fashion_and_beauty ********* The article goes on to praise Courtney Cox, the star of “Cougar Townâ€Â, as a so-called “positive female role model.â€Â As you may know, “Cougar Townâ€Â is one of the concerning TV shows we monitor.  It showcases the numerous sexual exploits of a divorced mother in her mid-forties.  The latest episode dealt with Cox’s character making an arrangement with her bachelor neighbor to engage in meaningless sex whenever they wanted with no emotional commitment, no strings attached.  She stated:  “We’re friends, it can be casual.  Plus ‘friends sex’ is the most fun.  No guilt, no commitment!â€Â And this is what some in the world call a “positive female role model?â€ÂÂ  And sadly, we even see this coarsened view creeping into the church.  Provocative dressing, living by the world’s standards, seeking after outward beauty instead of those inward qualities that God identifies as true beauty. We need Christian women today to set an example of holiness and purity, modeling before their family, friends, and a watching world what true femininity and godliness is.
