The conservatism of Fox News and the filthy trash of Fox TV

Two individual have recently emailed me with a question that others probably have, as well.  The question is regarding the connection between the conservatism of Fox News, yet the filthy trash of the Fox TV network. Email #1:  Is this the same FOX that operates the fair and balanced news?  Isn't it a bit contradictory to promote these kinds of shows?  Thanks C.L. Email #2 I was concerned why Fox TV would allow filthy trash to be shown on TV to our families and Fox News works so hard to give us honest news reports that in turn affects our families in many diverse ways.  It seems like first page of the book works diligently towards integrity but the next page closes a blind eye to filth. Our response: Fox News and the Fox television network are part of News Corp. – the world's #2 media conglomerate (behind Walt Disney), and has operations spanning film, television, and publishing. It produces and distributes movies through Fox Filmed Entertainment, while its FOX Broadcasting network has more than 200 affiliate stations in the US. The company also owns and operates more than 25 TV stations, as well as a portfolio of cable networks (including Fox News). Its publishing businesses include newspaper publishers Dow Jones (The Wall Street Journal) and News International (The Times, London), and book publisher HarperCollins.  Rupert Murdoch is the CEO of News Corp. It seems rather clear that News Corp. is not a conservative think tank.  Its approach to business is to reach different audiences broadening their business mark thereby reaching into the pocketbooks of those very liberal to those more conservative. I am disgusted that there aren’t more news outlets (and networks) that approach journalism from a fair and balanced perspective and/or from a conservative perspective.  Fox News is far from perfect, yet it at least presents news from a different perspective than anyone else. I am definitely not a fan of all aspects of Fox News, yet it is a source for news offering something other than the party line of the liberal establishment.  And while I appreciate this, to Rupert Murdoch it’s all about money.  It’s hard to stomach the fact that the network I look to for “fair and balancedâ€Â reporting is also part of a business that so blatantly undermines my values.  Ultimately, Fox/News Corp is not a friend of the family.
