DOJ To Appeal National Day Of Prayer Ruling

Many have been watching with great concern as a federal judge out of Wisconsin ruled that the National Day of Prayer was unconstitutional. Prior to this ruling, ADA had circulated a petition urging the president to not only acknowledge the National Day of Prayer via official proclamation but to  publicly participate in the National Day of Prayer in Washington, DC. bit.ly/9Faknw The Alliance Defense Fund and others have urged President Obama to direct the Department of Justice to contest the decision made by the Western District of Wisconsin.   Fox news reports that  DOJ is appealing this ruling.  Quoting: The Justice Department says it will appeal a federal judge's ruling that deemed the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional. In a "Notice of Appeal" filed in the Western District of Wisconsin on Thursday, Justice Department lawyers said that, on behalf of President Barack Obama and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, they were asking the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to overturn the judge's ruling.
