A&F Quarterly – desperation shows itself at A&F

As we reported in recent weeks, Abercrombie & Fitch is back in the business of using porn to promote their name and their product.  This weekend saw the release of their pornographic A&F Quarterly.  One of our staff acquired it today for analysis.  It wasn’t as though there was a great run on it’s release.  There were stacks of them available.  No buzz surrounded its new release. It is unadulterated desperation.  Some will say “You fell right into their trap.  They are hoping for controversy to help spark sales.â€Â Where did controversy get them before?  A&F same store sales were in decline in late 2003 despite the  peddling of their pornographic catalog.  A&F apparently thinks it will be different this time. Some of their nasty posters are back up as well. The A&F catalog of earlier years did manage to showcase some of their products (about half of the catalog was explicit pics and degenerate articles).  This quarterly contains no articles nor clothing promotionals.  It simply features images displaying the private parts of young models. Pornography desensitizes, addicts and destroys.  Of that there is no doubt.  We opposed A&F in the past.    My Christian conscience forbids me to turn my back on targeting this reprobate company that will lure children in via sexual imagery – a pornographic store for youth.
