ABC/Disney and their GLAAD nominations

ABC Disney LogoTo contact ABC/Disney: https://americandecency.org/take_action_form.php I love the stirring account in Hebrews 11 where God reminds us of the Old Testament patriarchs, heroes of the faith who give us such example of walking “by faithâ€Â – “By faith Abraham…, by faith Isaac…, by faith Jacob…â€Â and so on. And the call in the following chapter, Hebrews 12, for us to therefore run our own race of faith. Also listed in that account from Hebrews is the faith of Moses.  Hebrews 11:24-26 tells us: “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.â€Â This verse came to mind after reading the article below. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has announced their nominations for their annual media awards. Included are scores of television shows, movies, musicians, journalists, etc.. It is no surprise to us that ABC received the most nominations from GLAAD. A number of the shows we have monitored made the praise-worthy list by GLAAD. Reason enough for us to monitor them. These are all shows that openly promote homosexuality and the gay agenda. Shows such as “Private Practiceâ€Â, “Grey’s Anatomyâ€Â, “Brothers & Sistersâ€Â, and “Modern Familyâ€Â. The article below quotes GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios as stating: “Today we feel blessed to have so many options, but… t’s not enough to be ‘Will and Grace’ any more. The benchmark is higher.â€Â First of all, I find it contemptible that one who promotes such vileness arrogantly uses the term “blessedâ€Â. But then look at the rest of that quote. GLAAD is demanding that the entertainment industry become more blatant in pushing the gay agenda. Shows that have main characters who are gay (as did the ground-breaking “Will & Graceâ€Â) aren’t enough for GLAAD. They have set “the benchmark higherâ€Â. Meaning, I’m sure, they want more explicit gay scenes, storylines, and promotion of the gay agenda. And, it seems obvious, the entertainment industry is in lock step with GLAAD in promoting the gay agenda. Also included in GLAAD’s nominations is the self-named singer “Lady Gagaâ€Â who has quickly risen in popularity among youth.  “Lady Gagaâ€Â, a gifted musician, at age 11 was accepted to the prestigious Julliard School in Manhattan, but instead attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private Roman Catholic school. Now, however, “Lady Gagaâ€Â, who was featured on the cover of the annual ‘Hot 100’ issue of “Rolling Stoneâ€Â semi-nude – wearing only plastic bubbles, has stated that she is bisexual and has told a crowd at one of her concerts that the lyrics of one of her songs is about fantasizing about a woman while being with a man. This is the type of example millions of youth idolize. And, it’s the message GLAAD is quite successfully permeating our culture with.  Through TV, movies, entertainers, and singers like “Lady Gagaâ€Â, young and old alike are being sold the message that homosexuality and bisexuality is good, something to accept and even experiment with. But back to those verses above from Hebrews 11. Those who promote and follow the agenda of GLAAD are doing what Moses shunned – enjoying “the passing pleasures of sinâ€Â. They are receiving their reward from the likes of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.  However, unless they repent of their sin and turn to Christ, they will never know the eternal reward that Moses sought after – “esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.â€Â We have “the heroes of the faithâ€Â. GLAAD promotes its own ‘heroes’. But as a word of warning to those “honoredâ€Â by GLAAD for their promotion of the gay agenda, I would also refer them to the previous chapter in Hebrews where, in Hebrews 10:31, we are told “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.â€Â ************** 'True Blood,' Lady Gaga and ABC among GLAAD nominees By Jo Piazza, Special to CNN Designer Tom Ford's dramatic feature film, "A Single Man," HBO's vampire series, "True Blood" and singer/songwriter Lady Gaga were among those nominated for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's annual media awards on Wednesday. GLAAD nominated 152 television shows, movies, musicians, journalists and artists for their awards, which will be given out in three ceremonies starting in New York on March 13. "Our media awards are an important benchmark for where we are and a way of applauding those networks and news outlets who have portrayed or developed stories that actually reflect the challenges gay people face on a daily basis," said GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios. "Sex & the City" actress Cynthia Nixon will also be honored by GLAAD with the Vito Russo Award, which is annually presented to an openly gay media professional who has made a significant effort to promote equal rights. Nixon has been dating education activist Christine Marinoni since 2004. She has since been supportive of the fight for same-sex marriage in New York State. "Cynthia Nixon has been a vocal and visible advocate who has transformed cultural attitudes about our community," Barrios said.   "She is a perfect example of how sharing your personal story and speaking out for marriage equality can inspire change among fair-minded Americans. It is our privilege to honor her." This will be the organization's 21st awards and Barrios noted that the group has a lot more options now to choose from than they did when they first started distributing them. "Today we feel blessed to have so many options, but we also we tell a slightly different story. It's not enough to be 'Will and Grace' any more. The benchmark is higher." ABC landed the most nominations out of the four major networks, receiving eight nominations for programs such as "Modern Family," "All My Children," "Private Practice," and "Grey's Anatomy." The films "Everybody's Fine," and "Precious" were also nominated as well as singer Adam Lambert, who caused a stir last year with his male-on-male kiss at the American Music Awards. http://sprint.cnn.mlogic.mobi/cnn/ne/ent/detail/430098 ************* To contact ABC/Disney: https://americandecency.org/take_action_form.php You can make an online donation at: https://secure4.afo.net/ada/main.php?f=donate/display9 or mail a donation to the address below.
