The smaller arenas must not be forsaken

By: Chris Johnson

Personal note:

American Decency Association is not fighting in the big war – the war in Iraq, the borders, we weren’t involved in the Presidential campaigns directly. We have, however, fought some big battles in regard to Howard Stern, Abercrombie & Fitch as you know.

Preently, we are engaged in what too many think are lowly battles of speaking up for decency at the frontlines where no one seems to pay much attention in these days of desensitization and accommodation.

Indecency at the checkouts
Indecency at the local mall
Victoria’s Secret
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition
— we’ll be providing a list of the advertisers soon (2009 issue not out yet)

I know you have other ministries that you are supporting. We do too.
However, I’m calling out to you today to show your support for our frontline efforts on these fights at the local level that so few are fighting in our day.

They aren’t inconsequential. Giving up the fight for decency at the local level is a huge mistake. Giving in to the darkness of Cosmopolitan, SI Swimsuit, the darkness of VS displays, etc.. will only lead to greater and greater darkness.

We should not give up our public shopping places to darkness. Show your support again today with a gift of $25 or $50.

Let us hear from some of our faithful friends but also from some new friends as well.

Your stand with us will be a great encouragement and help as we continue to fight the fight of faith on the spiritual battlefields God has called us to.

Thanks for your prayerful involvement through taking a stand yourself, praying and supporting as you are able.

On the home front –

By popular demand, we are showing “Fireproof” at least one more time.

Tonight, Friday, January 16, 2008
At 7:00 pm at 203 E. Main Street, Fremont, Michigan

“Fireproof”
(at the first showing on New Year’s Eve, we had 125 in attendance)
(at the second showing on New Year’s Eve there were 50 in attendance)

Personal note in closing:

First, regarding “Fireproof.” This movie is a must see if there ever was one. Some are indicating they would like to see it again.
Others are saying they would like to come and bring a friend(s).
It isn’t available for release in DVD until January 27.
There is really something very special about seeing this kind of powerful Christian movie in community!
That’s why we have decided to show it at least one more time!

In closing, after the movie on New Year’s Eve, we asked you to indicate whether you were interested in receiving this kind of update or invitation. We told you how important it was for us to spread the word by word of mouth!

Please join us in praying that this will be another evening where God is glorified and His people are encouraged to live for Him!

Begin to tell others today! If you want to respond back to us telling us of your intentions, that helps us too!!

Thanks and may God bless you!

Yours in Christ’s service,
Bill Johnson, president
American Decency Association

The movie is free.
Refreshments will be available.
Child care will be provided.
