On Friday and Saturday (July 31 and August 1) we heard significant messages from outstanding leaders in the anti-pornography fight.

One of the areas that was addressed was an explanation of how men can slink into child pornography. It’s a disgusting, terrifying scenario for someone’s children!
In part, it is that the brain of the porn user is getting (inadvertently) retrained to find acceptable that which was once unthinkable. He gets accustomed to the variety of pictures that he was using.  Online he finds a “friend” that will trade him his stash of child porn pictures for what he has. In order to keep a fresh inventory of child porn pictures, he goes out and acquires a new collection (with his own kids or neighbors).

Pat Trueman, former head of the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Section in Washington Dc, discusses at length, this depraved slippery slope.

Pat also mentions a website that has been delivering some helpful results in retraining the brain.

Am I mentioning something that is rare? You know better and so do I. Like, for example this article from the Detroit Free Press from August 17.

HOWELL – Nine men were nabbed over the weekend in a sting after allegedly having sexually explicit Internet chats with undercover agents posing as children.

The Michigan attorney general’s office and Livingston County sheriff announced the arrests today.

The defendants were arrested at or near a decoy home in the Howell area.

They are accused of traveling to have sex with a child. Others also may be charged with sending pornographic images to undercover agents.

The men range in age from 24 to 53. One came from as far as Columbus, Ohio, while the rest are from Michigan.

Authorities say many of the defendants feared being caught in a sting situation and declined to come to the home, asking to meet at nearby locations instead.
