Fake email accounts and other lies

By: Steve Huston

Raising young people is such a joy but can also involve heartbreak.   One of my best friends went through an experience where his beautiful daughter was duped into a relationship with a young man and he had just gone through a divorce and wasn’t straight with my friend’s daughter or family. My friend knew something was seriously wrong.  He tried to counsel his young daughter but she ignored his counsel to proceed with greater caution.
All around us are people that in many ways are so bright yet in other ways so
easily misled.  Much could be said on this subject.

I received the following article from Pat Trueman from the Boston Globe entitled “How do I forgive?”

The article is a powerful description of how a young lady falls in love with a guy who while he says he loves her has other involvements involving Craigslist.

I urge you to read this to sharpen your thinking and discernment skills and pass it along to anyone that you think may need this concerning reminder of the importance of not going by feelings alone.

The person answering the question to the  young person does pretty well exposing the young lady’s  blindness.

“My boyfriend cheated on me. Not physically, but emotionally for more than a year (we’ve been dating for just over two). A few weeks ago, I was on my boyfriend’s computer and when I went to type in a website, I noticed that he had been on Craigslist. We have been discussing moving in together when his lease is up at the end of the month and he said he had been looking at apartments, so I wanted to see what he had found. I go to his web history and …”

I urge you to read this carefully and if there is anyone in your life that could benefit from this, pass it along.

May our loved ones not be similarly duped.

In closing,  Pat Trueman discusses very professionally and directly lies that are being perpetrated and how to rise above it.

Match Grant Challenge — with 27 days yet to go.

$9,366.55 (62%)have been raised through today!   $5,634.45 yet needed to reach the goal!

Pornographers raise money easily through deception, playing to the weaknesses of vulnerable men, women and even children.  They appeal to the flesh.

We raise money through sharing our burden, prayer, service in His name, even match challenges.  We appeal to our spiritual brothers and sisters.

Here are the details of this important challenge.

1.  it must be new money–from someone who hasn’t given in 2008 or 2009.   Or, any amount given in 2009 which was more than what someone gave in 2008.  E.g. donor gives $400 in 2008 but cumulatively gives $1000 in 2009 by the end of the match period, we will match $600
2.  we will match up to $15,000
3.  the funds must be received between June 15 and September 30.
