VICTORIA'S SECRET: THEIR MARKETING STRATEGIES ARE PORNOGRAPHIC – OUR WRITERS AGREE WITH US SEE BELOW

LETTER #1:

Dear Victoria's Secret,
I write to you has a husband of nearly 49 years, a grandfather, a Christian, retired attorney, Local Hospital Board Member, active in our church, etc. with great concern. Many of us believe that your posters and other promotions violate good taste and morality.
Please take our concerns and complaints seriously!!

Modesty, public civility and decency remain character qualities that millions of American mothers and fathers uphold and strive to instill in their children. We cherish our youth. We work hard to provide good examples, attempting to teach them to discern between good and bad – right and wrong – decent and indecent.

We are alarmed, undermined, and upset when we take our family to the local mall and are confronted with incredibly aggressive sexual advertising on Victoria's Secret window and wall displays and mannequins.

Your public advertisements are offensive and obnoxious.
I urge you to discontinue your use of erotic, pornographic wall and window displays in mall stores, in your publications, and television ads. I await your response as I determine the course of action I anticipate having to take.
Sincerely,
B.C.

LETTER #2:

To Whom It May Concern,

I have stopped shopping at your stores and through your catalogs, because I am offended by your advertising tactics.
I don't believe that you have to sell nudity to sell lingerie.
As long as I see the displays (in your stores and in your magazines), showing such suggestions of sex, I will not shop with your company. What are you selling sex or lingerie?
I am so concerned that I refuse to spend our money on your advertising that portrays selling of sex.
H.A.

LETTER #3

Dear Victoria's Secret,
As a grandfather I found myself highly embarrassed while walking through my area mall with my 10 yr. old grandson the other day. Your explicit out in the open pictures were difficult to explain when he started pointing at them and saying the kinds of things little boys shouldn't be saying in a crowded public mall. I wish you'd find a better way to display your wares so that young children don't have to be exposed to them out in public. Thank you, D.G.

LETTER #4:

To whom it may concern:

I am appalled, every time I visit our local malls, about the sleazy, disgusting, posters and mannequins displayed in your windows. I do not and will not patronize your stores because of the pornographic visuals assaulting the eyes of my grandchildren when I take them shopping. I am sure you can use appropriate advertising and you will find you have many more customers when you do. Many of my friends echo my feelings.

LETTER #5:

I was shopping with my 7-year old son yesterday. In your store window was a huge naked barely covered poster of a woman. Why must you offend the sensibilities of our children and let them think this is the reason to shop. I will never again shop at your store.
C.W.
