This show is the most overt attack on marriage that I have seen on network television. The theme that “swingingâ€Â – group sex – is exciting, acceptable, and ‘good’ is pounded home, while a loving, monogamous marriage is depicted as boring and dull. CBS's "Swingtown" June 27, 2008CBS again last night aired the filth of “Swingtownâ€Â – the show promoting group sex and open marriage as normal and a good thing. Each episode has reiterated this theme over and over. The show centers on Bruce and Susan, a couple who has recently “experimentedâ€Â with group sex with their ‘swinging’ neighbors. In last week’s episode the wife of this couple who, unlike her husband, had been somewhat reticent about continuing with this “experimentationâ€Â, ended up telling her husband “all options [were] on the tableâ€Â for anything her husband wanted to do sexually. And last night’s episode opened with a revolting scene reinforcing the idea of sexual experimentation. Bruce and Susan are shown in bed in a sexual scene and this dialogue takes place: Susan: We’re going to wake the neighbors. Bruce: I think they’d approve. Or we could just invite them over. You said, ‘all options on the table.’ Susan: Okay, mister. Two can play at this game. Bruce: Only two? Boring. Notice the last line. This is the message –the loving relationship between a husband and wife is “boringâ€Â. Group sex will ‘spice up’ one’s marriage. Later in the episode the two “swingingâ€Â couples go away for a weekend. Another disgusting scene is shown of the two couples in the same room together. The husbands are each about to engage in sexual activity with each other’s wife. As they are interrupted by a third couple entering the cabin, one of the husbands states: “I didn’t know this weekend was going to be a three-way.â€Â Drug use is also shown positively. The wife of the third couple, last week negatively depicted as ‘straight-laced’ and a devout Christian, joins in and consumes marijuana with the other couples. Later all three couples are shown stripping in front of each other and going skinny-dipping together. The boring Christian is then shown to be a lot more ‘fun’ – once she’s discarded her values along with her clothes. This show is the most overt attack on marriage that I have seen on network television. The theme that “swingingâ€Â – group sex – is exciting, acceptable, and ‘good’ is pounded home, while a loving, monogamous marriage is depicted as boring and dull. Those of you reading this know that this is a repugnant lie from the pit of hell and you also know that lives can be destroyed by those who are deceived by CBS’ message. Recently, two news reports give evidence of the damage and destruction that can easily follow in the wake of this lie. One account is of Neil Entwistle, the British citizen who recently was found guilty of murdering his American wife and baby daughter in Massachusetts. According to a report by MSNBC, “Prosecutors said Entwistle killed the two because he was dissatisfied with his sex life… He had been looking for sex online through Web sites for escort services and a swingers' site….â€Â http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25372783/ Another abhorrent report, also from MSNBC, is regarding an “East Texas swingers club where children allegedly performed sex shows for adults. … prosecutors say four children — the three siblings, now ages 12, 10 and 7, and their 10-year-old aunt — were trained to perform in front of an audience of 50 to 100 once a week … According to a Mineola police report, the department first investigated a complaint in June 2005 in which the siblings' foster mother said one of the girls described dancing toward men and another child saying that ‘everybody does nasty stuff in there.’â€Â http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25318577/from/ET/ My heart was sickened reading about the damage caused by this perversion. And the fact that CBS is portraying group sex – the thoroughly revolting and twisted practice of ‘swingers’ – as “funâ€Â and “good for marriagesâ€Â outrages me as I would hope it does you, as well. One of the best ways to make an impact on CBS is to hit them in their pocketbook and urge the sponsors of “Swingtownâ€Â to drop their ads. We have already seen numbers of advertisers disappear. In previous weeks there have been at least 20 different advertisers; last night’s episode there were only 13 sponsors (many of them Hollywood’s own movie companies). As a result, CBS had to fill up ad space with public service announcements and numbers of promos for their own shows. There are numbers of hardcore advertisers that have continued to sponsor “Swingtownâ€Â. They need to hear from each of us! They include: Quiznos, Volkswagen, Kia, and Dannon yougurt. For a complete list of advertisers with contact information and a sample letter, see: https://americandecency.org/main.php?f=updates_new/2008/June/06.26a.08 [includes sample letter to advertisers] Hopefully you can take a little time to contact numbers of these advertisers, but if you can only contact one, please let Dannon yogurt hear from you! The Dannon Comapany has been sending out a very disingenuous reply letter in recent weeks as numbers of you have contacted them. The letter gives every indication that “Swingtownâ€Â does not meet their advertising standards and that they will be pulling their ads. And yet, each week their ads continue to sponsor this trash! Below is Dannon’s hypocritical response for which they need to be called on and challenged. ******** Dear …, Thank you for contacting The Dannon Company regarding the television program Swingtown in which our advertising appeared recently. I can assure you we share your concerns about the quality and appropriateness of programming. We do all that we can to ensure that it meets Dannon standards. As you may know, companies like Dannon typically purchase advertising "rotations" throughout a network's or station's scheduled programming. And although we work diligently through our advertising agency to avoid inappropriate programming, on occasion our safeguards are inadequate. For us, that is an indication that we must redouble our efforts in this regard, and we will. We are committed to participating in programs that reflect the high quality of our products. That is our directive to our advertising agency, and it is not negotiable. Once again, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us on this important matter. You can be sure we value your comments and we hope in the future that we can count you as a consumer of Dannon products. Sincerely, Lisa Moore Consumer Response Representative Ref#:1012235N ********* http://www.dannon.com/contact.aspx ================== Thank you for helping us stay in the battle for Truth and decency. https://americandecency.org/folder.php?f=donate Bill Johnson, president *********************************************************** American Decency Association Bill Johnson, President P.O.
