On behalf of the Laguna Hills Mall Management Staff, I would like to extend my gratitude for your recent correspondence regarding your experience here at our shopping center. As we continuously strive to build lasting and mutually beneficial relationships and utilize our expertise to serve our constituents–shoppers, retailers, investors, etc.–it is always helpful to hear our customers' comments (both good and bad) on where we can improve to enhance the shopping experience. We understand your concerns regarding the suggestive display inside Victoria's Secret and have forwarded similar customer comments to the corporate headquarters. Retailers do reserve the right to display the marketing materials of their choice within their stores located at our mall. Therefore, we are advising shoppers like yourself who object to this campaign to express your concerns directly to Victoria's Secret. Please accept my apologies for the above-referenced incident in our shopping center. Rest assured the store manager has been made aware of your concerns, as it does reflect upon the overall continuity of existence and reputation here at the Laguna Hills Mall. I called the number that Mr. Hagen provided [VS headquarters] (614-577-7111) and as I went through the brief protocol of VS, I actually did speak with a real person. She was a very good listener as I discussed fully my concerns regarding coast to coast issues with Victoria's Secret. I also placed a call to Mr. Hagen (General Manager of Lakes Mall) and left a voice message for him asking him to call me back. In my voice message, I let him know kindly but firmly that he is not giving correct information when he states that Victoria's Secret takes customer complaints seriously when it comes to the manner in which they display their merchandise. We know, for example, that our friends at AFA sent out an email directly to Mr. Hagen in Muskegon and that a good number of people from the greater Muskegon, MI area emailed directly to him. The displays remain at this time, however we will continue to elevate our protest as needed. I'll keep you informed. This needs to be taking place elsewhere, and while it is to one degree or another, many additional expressions of concern are needed.
