Teen exposure to Internet p**n encourages s** at a younger age

Internet porn a growing problem with children

Researchers have found that teen exposure to Internet pornography encourages sex at a younger age.

According to the journal Cyber Psychology and Behavior, males between the age of 12 and 17 who regularly viewed porn had sexual relations at an earlier stage in their lives than those who have not regularly viewed Internet porn.

Pat Trueman, an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund and former chief of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section in the Criminal Division of the Justice Department, said increased availability of porn – along with a lack of government oversight – contributes to the problem. And he said the problem highlights the need for parents to use Internet blocking software.

“Believe it or not, the use of blocking software is declining in America [in conjunction] with the rise of the use of pornography by children,” Trueman explained. “There’s sort of a disconnect there, … so blocking software is very important.”

Trueman said the federal government needs to make the prosecution of illegal Internet porn a priority. He said if the federal government went after just a few of the online porn providers, the problem would start to disappear.

Filtering?
Some reading the above will be convicted recognizing that they need protection for their children, family, self.

A SAFE INTERNET ALTERNATIVE FOR YOUR FAMILY
Millions of pornographic websites are open to everyone … 80% of e-mail is spam or worse! Does your Internet service provider (ISP) care about you or your family? Are you paying for Internet service that helps sponsor destructive and immoral behavior? You are if you use AOL, MSN, or Earthlink! For information on an ISP designed to protect the entire family, go to http://www.afo.net — it’s not too late to switch!

A sad and tragic word. An American role model in a strip club in Vegas.
I’m referring to Michael Phelps.

I received an email notice from Pat Trueman, former head of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Enforcement Section, pointing us to a web site that shows Olympic multi-gold winner at a strip club in Las Vegas – oogling and touching scantily clad dancers.

The website is too graphic to circulate.

Mr. Trueman’s few words describing were:
“The first news about Olympic champion Michael Phelps since the Olympics has him at a Las Vegas strip club.”

As a close friend of this ministry stated:

“Gold and silver lose their luster and the soul is still empty. All those years of dedication and hard work and now what? Just some medals and a BIG empty spot in his heart.”

We need to pray for this young man.

“Oh Father God here is one of your special creation so vulnerable to soul destroying influences who also is now setting such a tragic and soul damaging example to untold numbers of people who will hear of his escapades at a strip club.

We pray that you will draw someone near him who loves him and cares for him that will help him to see his great need and will confess his sins, recognizing His need for Christ who will set him free from the bondages of sin. Help Him Heavenly Father. Help us too. We need your help.”
