Points of contention where the battle is raging

By: Steve Huston

Personal note:

I’ve been out of town the last few days supporting my younger sister in prayer and emotional and spiritual support as she is need of a little extra older brother support.

While away, Jan and I have taken the opportunity to watch several of the evening talk shows. The battle is raging very hot at this very hour.

Here are a couple of informational pieces reflecting points of contention where the battle is raging:

Obama’s Mandate for Nationalized Same-Sex Marriage

In closing, the familiar old adage comes to mind, “I don’t know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.”

Familiar verses come quickly to mind when in the midst of uncertainties and heightened stress.

Pray without ceasing. [I Thessalonians 5:17]

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? [I John 5:4-5]

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. [II Timothy 4:2-8]

May God keep us in His word and in prayer for His service and His glory through November 4 and far beyond. Be encouraged and stay strong.
