Grief, yet hope

By: Steve Huston

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain …” Rev. 21:4a

As the assistant to Bill Johnson, I’m writing to share that he will be out of the office this week as his father passed away yesterday. Bill has been an example to those of us around him of one who truly honored his father in the way he loved, supported, and cared for his dad in his last years. His father passed quite suddenly, but peacefully, at Bill’s home.

As Christians we grieve, but not as those who have no hope. Bill had often commented on the peace that his father exhibited in the midst of discomfort these last months. A peace that can only come from the Lord. Bill’s dad would often tell him: “I’ve had a good life. I don’t have any squawks.” May that peace and contentment exemplify each one of us as believers before a watching world.

During this week as Bill is out of the office, our daily email alert will be on hiatus. As the staff and board of directors of ADA, please join with us in prayer for Bill and his family in their sorrow. Thank you for standing with us.
