***Digital phones, nude pictures and damaged lives –
Two recent articles regarding the above.
Pinckney teens with phone pics of nude 14-year-old may face child porn charges [Taken from the Detroit Free Press]

“… The school district is advising all parents to check their students’ cell phones for the photo, which started out as a summertime joke between the ninth-grader and her friends. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department had originally asked for any phone with the picture for evidence. But parents have been complaining that the phones won’t be returned to them. …”
Personal note:
Pornography destroys! Being an anti-pornography crusader since 1985 I used to sometimes wonder “Does anybody care?” In our ministry gatherings, we often would hear people say “Until you or one of your loved ones have been hurt by pornography, (sadly) too many don’t understand.”
You can be sure of this. There’s a whole of people in this school district (Pinckney, MI) that now understand! Pornography destroys!!
“I will place no wicked thing before my eyes.”

*** Troubled church to join with another [Taken from Muskegon (MI)Chronicle

“… According to prosecutors, [The pastor] met with a female church member at a Norton Shores cafe Feb. 20. During that meeting, [the pastor] made inappropriate sexual comments and asked sex-related personal questions, prosecutors said.
[The pastor] showed the woman naked pictures of himself and his wife against her will, prosecutors said.”
Personal note:
This is a shock. This young pastor came out of a Godly home. His family is highly regarded. The church that he headed was growing and maturing under his leadership. And then for this pastor to do what he did, it is very, very difficult for those close to the family to comprehend.
Does pornography destroy? In the anti-pornography battles over the years, it is a known fact that using pornography little by little undermines rational decision making. A porn addict can be moved to do acts that previously would have been unthinkable to him or her.
Who is speaking up for purity today? Very few.
The pulpit is largely silent in regard to give clear Biblical injunction against placing erotic things before your eyes.
We are a pro-decency organization (anti-pornography). As someone said to me recently, your cause is kind of a thing of the past isn’t it? Does anybody really care about decency?
If you do, why not make an investment in the fight?
I announce to you a year end match challenge that was extended by a friend of this ministry.
It’s an extension of an earlier one that we were not able to meet a little bit earlier in the year.
Quoting: “I will match all new (from anyone who has not given to ADA in 2007 or 2008) gifts received from June 1- August 31 up to a total of $15,000. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for all you do to uphold purity and holiness.”
This match challenge had already run for three months. Here are the results through that time frame. There were 88 gifts totaling $5,911.00.
So our anonymous donor graciously sent us a check for $6,000 and proceeded to yet challenge us again. Stating: “We will give you $6,000 now and we would like to extend the offer for an additional $10,000 for new money collected by 12/31/08. Keep up the fight…”
Those of you that follow closely know that these year end match challenges – as they are met – have been used significantly to strengthen us to start the new year on solid financial ground!!
If you benefit from our email alerts, I encourage you to show your tangible support. Your gift of any amount will be doubled. We will continue by the grace of God and the help of His people.
