Dannon advertised again on Swingtown —

By: Steve Huston

For those of you tracking the ongoing duplicity of Dannon as they say one thing and do another – Dannon did advertise last Thursday on CBS’s “Swingtown.”

Dannon’s comments again in part: “… We are committed to participating in programs that reflect the high quality of our products. That is our directive to our advertising agency, and it is not negotiable. …”

Here’s how one person responded to Dannon’s letter:

” … thank you for your standard response. What you are telling me is that Dannon has no control over how its money is spent. Most intellegent people would consider this an insult. By the way, Dannon’s stock holders would be interested in knowing the company has no control over how the company’s money is spent. I know you don’t make the rules, and must respond as directed from the top corporate officials down. God bless you, and I wish you a very pleasant day.

A year in review —

On July 1, 2007, we moved into our new building here on main street in Fremont, Michigan.

The evidence of God’s hand —
Under the leadership of the ADA board and the wisdom of God, we purchased the building debt free! What wisdom that was! With the changing economy and the elevating gas prices, God provided us with a narrow window of opportunity and poured out His blessing upon us as hundreds of individuals affirmed our sense that God was calling us to purchase this old church building – once a Christian Scientist church (since the 1940s). Building purchased March 2007. Praise is due to His mighty name!

There was yet a climate of economic optimism 18 months ago. That was then now is now. Debt free we are and so even as giving is in decline, we are not in bondage to paying back any creditors.

And now —
“Understanding the times in order to know what to do”

On August 1 last summer we dedicated this building. We were blessed to have AFA Founder and Chairman Donald E. Wildmon come and help us bless and dedicate our new ministry building.

We also had friends and warriors in the battle come to assist us in making this day a great success with Robert Peters, President of Morality in Media (www.moralityinmedia.org) and Art Ally, President of the Timothy Plan (www.timothyplan.com).

This summer we are going against the tide (with gas prices inhibiting), we are hosting a weekend spiritual conference to encourage, inform and to exhort one another). Our weekend conference will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 25, 26 with a worship service on July 27 for those continuing on with us here.

Mark your calendar for July 25-27 (Friday through Sunday a.m.).

Spiritual conference at ADA headquarters for July 25-27

Friday, July 25. 7:00 – 8:00 pm
– a time of welcome and a lively and convicting presentation by Kenny Williams, Christian activist and one of AFA’s most faithful pro-decency chapter leaders. Kenny and his family are from St. Genevieve, Missouri.

8:00 – 9:00 pm – I’ll be leading in a time of open sharing
as we discuss mutual concerns and prayer concerns –
a time of prayer to close out the evening —

Saturday, July 26, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Saturday will include powerful messages for the family and for men by Steve Braun. Steve and his family have been Civil War re-enactors at major Civil War battlegrounds. Steve will challenge people young and old with his “Civil War Dads” presentation where he incorporates history with Biblical principles and Christian challenge. Steve comes to us from Canton, Michigan.

12:00 – 1:30 pm – lunch on your own —

Restaurants in the area include:
Subway, Arbys, Burger King, several pizza locations and mom and pop restaurants. [We exclude McDonalds, [Pizza Hut and Taco Bell as we still boycott Yum Brands].

1:30 – 4:00 pm – Former pastor Paul Saxton will be challenging us with the Lordship of Christ in regard to money management. Paul resides and ministers out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

4:00 – 5:00 pm – A pastoral address —

5:00 – 6:30 pm – Dinner together and closing comments and prayer

Match Challenge of $15,000. We look for evidences of God’s continued pleasure with us and with our ministry calling and stance. The latest evidence is a very timely match grant presented by an anonymous donor whose challenge is to call out to those who care about this ministry but haven’t given for a significant period of time. Here are the details of this gracious Match Challenge.

“ … a “Summer Matching Gift Pledge”. I will match all new (from anyone who has not given to ADA in 2007 or 2008) gifts received from June 1- August 31 up to a total of $15,000. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for all you do to uphold purity and holiness.”

Thank you for helping us stay in the battle for Truth and decency.
