Advertisers are staying away from advertising in Swingtown

Advertisers are staying away from advertising in “Swingtown.”

Discussing with Lisa who monitors this show for us we again compared notes on this evil show.

Lisa viewed it over the weekend and stated that “Swingtown” has created more despair and alarm than anything that she has ever monitored in her years with this ministry.

Keep in mind Lisa was the backbone of our efforts to drive Howard Stern off the regular airwaves – monitoring hours upon hours of the Howard Stern Radio Show.

Friday nights “Swingtown” included more couple switching and sex between a 17 year old female and a former male teacher

Being a former teacher of 18 years, I maintain that what you place before your eyes DOES impact. We have seen already in recent years how there has been an increase regarding this once unthinkable criminal behavior.

The thought of millions of people – young and old – watching this program grieves us.

As Lisa and I both stated, we can’t seem to find adequate words to describe our emotions and thoughts when we see even just portions of this wicked one hour program.

I can at least say this I grieve that it has come to this – that this kind of program is now aired over American airwaves. Recognizing that television programs don’t stay the same but only get worse, I shutter to think what is around the corner.

A friend of this ministry – one of the leaders in the fight against pornography – stated it this way via email the other day.

“The cover page on Advertising Age July 7 is ‘ADVERTISERS DON’T PARTY WITH CBS’s SWINGERS.’ Advertisers are staying away from advertising in Swingtown for fear of the backlash from consumers. The show is filling up its ad time with cheaper and self promoting CBS ads, fluff bits that aren’t paying adverts. Proctor & Gamble, the ‘largest’ CBS advertiser won’t run any ads on Swingtown.
So, tell your folks to redouble their efforts.

In saying this, I say this we didn’t get the list of advertisers for this past week. We are seeking the help of other ministries as we try to come up with this list.

We’ll provide you a full list of advertisers as we acquire it.

One of the few mainstream advertisers that remains is Quiznos. Did it advertise this past Friday?

=======================================
Match Challenge of $15,000. We look for evidences of God’s continued pleasure with us and with our ministry calling and stance. The latest evidence is a very timely match grant presented by an anonymous donor whose challenge is to call out to those who care about this ministry but haven’t given for a significant period of time. Here are the details of this gracious Match Challenge.

” … a “Summer Matching Gift Pledge”. I will match all new (from anyone who has not given to ADA in 2007 or 2008) gifts received from June 1- August 31 up to a total of $15,000. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for all you do to uphold purity and holiness.”

Thank you for helping us stay in the battle for Truth and decency.
