We rejoice at the core of people who have signed up to speak up for decency at the checkout counter. These individuals come from such locations as: Fremont, MI (our home base) Saline, MI Paw Paw, IL Sharon, WI Cumming, GA Abilene, TX Grand Rapids, MI Kalkaska, MI Brentwood, CA Houston, TX Tucson, AZ North Port, FL Waldorf, MD Richfield, UT Judsonia, AR Oak Ridge, NC Royal Oak, MI Whittier, CA Red Lion, PA Canisteo, NY Austin, TX Florence, AL Dunnville, KY Alexandria, VA Richmond, VA Smyrna, GA …. And the list goes on. I have been interviewed by USA Radio Network news and American Family Radio discussing our efforts to rally Christians to join our ever broadening campaign to speak up for decency at the places where we shop. So many have given in to the onslaught of pornography, obscenity and indecency. We know it isn’t pleasing to God to succumb to darkness. We are called to be the light and to not grow weary in well-doing! Join with us in this important local/nationwide campaign. You are needed! We will mail you a 10 minute DVD containing an informal interview between myself and Judy Krause, a ministry friend who gives very practical hands on information as to how she was able to effectively encourage a number of local grocery stores to discontinue placing indecent magazines at the checkout counter and/or placed blinders over magazines displaying indecent images or words. In addition, we will furnish a membership card that can be used when you speak to your local manager that there are many others who share your concern about indecency at the checkout. Consider the following verses from II Timothy 2:8-9 “…Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling …” Those of us who take our faith seriously are increasingly becoming aware of the importance of identifying with Christ in His suffering. On January 30 FRC’s president Tony Perkins urged listeners to his daily radio program to take a stand for decency and oppose pornographic magazines such as Cosmo in their local grocery stores. In part he stated: “Innocent kids are getting a good look at some not-so innocent magazines like Cosmopolitan … ..it’s just another way pop-culture’s de-sensitizing our kids to indecency.
