“… The Bible records that, ‘because the Israelites forsook God and no longer served Him, He became angry with them. He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and the Amorites, who that year shattered and crushed them.’ Is modern-day America, which has forsaken godly principles in favor of rampant immorality, in danger of similar judgement? …”
Yesterday I commented upon the decision by the Second Circuit of Appeals in New York saying that the use of the words “f…” and “sh___” by Cher and Nicole Richie were not indecent. My comment (in part): There are people that immediately say “So you want to bring back ‘Leave it to Beaver’, right?” Mocking me in my concern for what television has become. If the alternative is what we have gotten foisted down our throats for the last generations, my answer would be “Yeah. Give me ‘Leave it to Beaver’ because then our youth and families would be much less likely to be propagated with corruption via the Ellens, the Paris Hiltons, the Britneys: the Desperate Housewives, the Family Guys – ideas, thoughts, words and actions that corrupt, decay and erode innocence. How many have been degraded by the toxicity of CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC/Disney? How many persons over these generations would have been persons of kindness, gentleness, politeness, and yes, decency? Only the Lord knows. And, now, we have the two judges out of the Second Circuit Court of New York saying that the f word and the sh word are okay to be broadcast. [It was a 2-1 decision – one judge dissenting.] How it can be that men can be so well-educated and yet be so foolish is a regular theme of our day. There are many such men and women in our day. Being wise they became fools the Bible says. See Romans 1. … https://americandecency.org/main.php?f=updates_new/2007/June/6.05.07 This morning I discovered that Dr. Dobson featured a powerful message given by Dr. John MacArthur on the National Day of Prayer that had his audience spell bound. MacArthur is saying what many of us having been trying to work out in our hearts, minds and spirits: Quoting: … Will God abandon our nation as He did with Israel? He already has, says the Rev. John MacArthur. Well-known pastor and theologian makes a strong biblical case for his dramatic assertion. This thought-provoking message should move believers to pray for revival in our nation as never before. “One of the most tragic scenes in the Bible … is the scene of the strongest man who ever lived, a man by the name of Samson, finding out he had no strength … He said, ‘I will go out as at other times and shake myself free [of the Philistines].’ … But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him. So the Philistines seized him.” — Rev. John MacArthur I urge you to listen to this prophetic message. We are making it available here in two versions.
