While America and other countries have welcomed Confucius Institutes within the campuses of higher learning, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reports “The CCP under Xi Jinping regards Christianity as a dangerous foreign import, with party documents warning against the ‘infiltration of Western hostile forces’ in the form of religion.” The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) recommended colleges take a deeper look at curricula and agendas brought forth in the classroom.
CNBC reports that according to AAUP, “Confucius Institutes function as an arm of the Chinese state and are allowed to ignore academic freedom,” and “Most agreements establishing Confucius Institutes feature nondisclosure clauses and unacceptable concessions to the political aims and practices of the government of China.”
This just proves that America and its institutions should take greater precautions in dealing with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and recognize the dangerous influence that its government brings to American government, culture, society, and especially to our children and youth. Even though we, as opposite to Xi Jinping, may regard communism “as a dangerous foreign import” and believe that it is an “infiltration of [Chinese] hostile forces in the form of religion;” we have more dignity and respect for human life than to treat communist offenders in the same way that the CCP treats its Christian offenders.
RFA gives a detailed report of how Chinese Christians are imprisoned and routinely beaten by Communist Chinese officials in transformation centers designed to make them renounce Christianity. Described as mobile facilities, they can be set up on location within a matter of hours, in a basement somewhere for example.
One Chinese believer, who attends a house church instead of a State sanctioned church, said he was detained for nearly ten months, during which time he was beaten, verbally abused and “mentally tortured” by staff. He also said, “There were no windows, no ventilation, and no time allowed outside.” With such routine and lengthy abuse, suicidal ideation and self-harm is often considered by these tortured followers of Jesus.
This follower of Christ warns, “You have to accept the statement they prepare for you. If you refuse, you will be seen as having a bad attitude and they will keep you in detention and keep on beating you.”
The CCP is not only after those who claim the name of Christ; Radio Free Asia also writes, “Another Christian who asked to remain anonymous told RFA that similar facilities are being used across China, not just for Protestants, but also for members of the underground Catholic church, and of the banned Falun Gong spiritual movement, a target of authorities since 1999.”
Consider the rate at which the CCP is more accepted and financed by American companies, American stockholders, college campuses, and even how they influence Hollywood (and here). Think about China’s desire for global domination, their "Operational Preparation for the Environment " - a dress rehearsal for conflict against the US, and this current administration’s push to weaken our nation on so many fronts. Now think about the above messaging regarding how Chinese Christians are treated by their own government and recognize that if they are successful in taking over America, Christians here will not fare any better…probably worse.
Taking all these things into account, I urge you Christian, pray for these brothers and sisters of the faith, that God will strengthen them, sustain them, and that they will have fruit for their sufferings. Pray for them as you would hope others would pray for you. Next, I ask that you do some self-examination to ready yourself to pray that God would open the eyes of our nation and the church; that we would live holy lives to the glory of God and the magnifying of our Lord, Jesus; and that the Body of Christ would stand resolutely having done all to stand in these evil days.
