Jewish Holocaust ending 1945 – Never Forget!
September 11, 2001 (9-11) – We’ll Always Remember!
The above statements are tied to their two horrific events; yet, anti-Semitism continues to rear its ugly head and America, for all practical purposes, has not remembered. As unfathomable as the events of almost two decades ago today seem to be, that day and its lingering affects pale in comparison to the near-indescribable Jewish Holocaust and a plethora of other events throughout history that can only be described as the evils of man perpetuated against man.
The seed that spawned the aforementioned atrocities is the same seed that is responsible for the violence and insurrection that is growing and creeping across our land. Some will blame it on racism; others on tyranny and a government that is forcing itself beyond the bounds that the Law of the Land (our Constitution) has set for it; one segment will blame it on communism or Islam. Leftists blame President Trump and conservatives tend to blame the Democrats. Because of the timing, many will lay responsibility at the feet of a microscopic virus called Corona.
Truth be told, there is a far deadlier virus that spans the globe and history; this virus is truly responsible for all the ills and evils of this world—it is sin that has infected the human heart. It is the incurable, “desperately wicked,” sinful heart that is responsible for 64 million+ deaths attributed to abortion; the destroyed and looted businesses of recent days; the shattered glass and burnt out buildings; the cries of men, women, and children who have lost loved ones regardless of skin color; and it is sin that incites the hatred, violence, and greed that seems to be overtaking large segments of the world in general and America specifically.
It is sin that would replace our Constitutional Republic with a Marxist-Lenin-Mao form of government. More simply stated, it is sin that would replace God with Man.
As founding father Noah Webster stated: “All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.” This is something we should “Never Forget!”
In response to this truth, let us “Always Remember” that there is only one solution to these ills. Seeing as all the underlying causes of our problems are truly spiritual in nature, the only real solution must be spiritual as well.
It takes the humble act of repentance; let us pray for a repentant heart. When we repent and turn to God He does an amazing thing with our “desperately wicked,” incurable heart. He gives us a heart transplant. Read the promise given through the prophet Ezekiel: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
Let us “Always Remember” that Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, did an atoning work for us upon the cross. Even though Jesus had never sinned, He became sin (taking our sin upon Himself), so that we could become the righteousness of God by believing on Him and trusting in Him for salvation.
Let us “Never Forget” to share this good news with others. It primarily glorifies God and His holy name; but it also changes the world in which we live – and wow do we need a change!
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7
