If you do not live in Michigan, this article is still of importance; but, if you live in the “Great Lakes State,” you have an incredible opportunity this weekend. You can investigate the candidates that will be on this coming Tuesday’s (8/4/20) primary ballot; urge your friends, family, church, and neighbors to exercise their privilege to vote; and invite others to pray with you for a righteous outcome!

Did you know that voting in the primary election gives you an advantage over those who say, “It’s only the primaries; wake me up in November for the ‘real’ vote?It’s true! When you vote in the primaries, you play a role in selecting the candidates that those others, who wait until November, get to vote for.

Elections have consequences; so, electing the right candidates is vitally important.We dare not play the “I think I recognize that name” or “I’ve seen lots of signs for that person” games. Remember, we are choosing people to represent us; they are supposed to protect the Constitution and stand up for our values. We are electing someone that is not only supposed to speak on our behalf but protect us from an ever-growing and overreaching government with its many, though not all, self-serving members.

Has the current incumbent been doing a good job? We should know, and not because they told us so. With the unconstitutional tyranny that many governors, including Michigan’s, has committed, it should be easy to learn who has done their job standing for We the People and who hasn’t put any pressure on the governor at all. These are desperate times economically, politically, and constitutionally; what have our current incumbents been doing for us lately? How have they been protecting us; why should they keep their current position?

That’s one reason why researching and voting in the primaries is so important; the incumbent has name recognition and money to send us nice fliers, to convince us of what he’s done. Search for truth and ask questions; then decide if they are worthy of your vote or if the new candidate, one who is hungry to make a difference, deserves it.

Primaries done right should keep us from having to vote for “the lesser of two evils.” That starts with finding, promoting, and supporting good candidates. It might be a little late for next Tuesday; but we can prayerfully check out the candidates that are now before us, informing others and encouraging them to vote.

By and large, Christians have long neglected their duty when it comes to voting and due diligence in selecting the right candidate. It’s imperative that we help others see how vital this is. We must wake up, recognizing that our apathy regarding due diligence and voting has led us to where we are. We must rise up, encouraging others to follow us to the voting booth. And we must mount up by voting our values, attacking those who would destroy our nation and its Constitution, steal our freedoms, and enslave our posterity. As Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.One way we fight for and protect our freedom is to vote rightly next Tuesday (8/4/20).

Our nation’s founders were not only wise; they, at times, seemed to see into the future. I urge you to take Noah Webster’s charge to heart:

“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, 'just men who will rule in the fear of God.' The preservation of [our] government depends on the faithful discharge of this Duty; if the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded. If [our] government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine Commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws.

I ask you, have we not come to the conclusion of this warning? Then let us decisively and prayerfully wake up, rise up, and mount up, using this primary election as a means of putting worthwhile and principled candidates on the ballot. Then let’s pray for them, stand behind them, and help them get elected. “The preservation of our government depends on the faithful discharge of this Duty.

VOTE on Tuesday, August 3, 2020; let your voice be heard!

We are grateful to God that He has moved on the hearts and minds of our friends, showing us a little of what is inside them. Your notes of encouragement, prayers, and financial support mean so much to us; without them, we wouldn’t be able to do the important work that God has laid upon us.
