Coming THIS WEEK!

By: Steve Huston

In the last email we sent out regarding our Hearing and Doing Conference with Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, Dave Agema, and the Baynes THIS Thursday, March 12 – Sunday, March 15 (Places and times are at the bottom of this email alert.), we warned our readers to believe what the Islamists are telling them.

I recently read the same warning from Bible teacher Michael Youssef, stating that the following statements were “spoken openly in speeches, writings, and documents seized by the FBI”: “When we destroy the West, it will be like a dream realized.” “Our work in America is a grand jihad . . . destroying Western civilization from within.” “What is our role in the U.S.? . . . Make jihad against the unbelievers.

For anyone who might think we make too much of this, like Chicken Little who ran around warning, “The sky is falling!” after an acorn dropped on her head, let me remind you of Muammar Gaddafi’s declaration in 2006: “We have 50 million Muslims in Europe. There are signs that Allah will grant Islam victory in Europe – without swords, without guns, without conquest. [We] will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades.

We’ve seen the above declaration largely come true for Europe and it’s only been two decades. We are reading and hearing such declarations being spoken against America, yet too many remain willfully ignorant, apathetic, and willing to – as former President Reagan warned – “spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.

Another pearl of wisdom, coming from our fortieth president, makes the reality of lost freedom to hit home as we watch Europe fall. “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth.

In reality, our response to such a warning can be boiled down to one of three: 1. Fear – which will generally result in either fight or flight (both of which are inappropriate in such situations). 2. Hopelessness which generally leads to apathy and depression (neither of which are helpful). Or 3. Pray biblically and expectantly to the God of Heaven – this is where we will find our only true help.

C.H Spurgeon’s Cheque Book of the Bank of Faith (3/9) gives us a good word regarding prayer in such times as these:

“And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace” (Jeremiah 29:7).

The principle involved in this text would suggest to all of us who are the LORD’s strangers and foreigners that we should be desirous to promote the peace and prosperity of the people among whom we dwell. Specially should our nation and our city be blest by our constant intercession. An earnest prayer for your country and other countries is well becoming in the mouth of every believer. Eagerly let us pray for the great boon of peace, both at home and abroad. If strife should cause bloodshed in our streets, or if foreign battle should slay our brave soldiers, we should all bewail the calamity; let us therefore pray for peace and diligently promote those principles by which the classes at home and the races abroad may be bound together in bonds of amity. (Peaceful, friendly, and harmonious relationship)

Although fervent, expectant prayer is foundational, we must also be willing to put feet to our prayers, but it must not be “zeal without knowledge.” It’s vital that we become informed of the issues from a Biblical worldview, stand for truth, and act in accordance with God’s Word. We must not be deceived by others who are advocating for wrongness, though they use emotional ploys. We must be people of true compassion, not toxic empathy.

With all this and so much more, we invite you to attend American Decency’s Hearing and Doing Conference. God has truly moved, putting our speakers and topics into place for such a time as this. Be sure to reserve your seat at kimberly@AmericanDecency.org or call us at 231-924-4050.

One of the issues that many seem to overlook or not have a clear understanding on is the halal dietary standards which Muslims are commanded to strictly follow. Below is a fact sheet we have put together for your education.

Halal Food Fact Sheet

Halal: It’s an Arabic word which means “permissible” or “lawful,” according to Shariah (Islamic law). Regarding food, “halal” identifies both what foods and practices are allowed for Muslims under Shariah, contrasted to foods and practices which are “haram” – which means forbidden. To clarify, halal is an ethical concept which goes beyond dietary practices; it governs all of life for the Muslim, encompassing finance, business, cosmetics, fashion, and everyday living.

In Texas, every public school, every hospital, every prison, and other state institutions will have one kitchen conforming to halal standards. (In other states, where there is a high Muslim population, there are schools, hospitals, etc. that practice this, as well.)

* For meat to be halal, the following religious guidelines must be strictly adhered to:

– At the time of slaughter, the animal must be healthy and alive (carrion is forbidden).

– A sharp knife must be used to cut swiftly and deeply through the throat, severing the following: trachea, esophagus, and main blood vessels. This is done without dulling their senses in any way.

– All the blood must be drained from its carcass (consuming blood is considered haram).

– The slaughter must be performed by a sane, adult Muslim and the name of Allah must be invoked at the moment of slaughter, consecrating it to him.

– The imam presiding over the slaughter and halal-ness of the meat charges for his services. This money also funds jihad (see below).

* Does the purchase of halal food fund jihad?

While the internet is full of sites telling one that such thoughts are nothing more than conspiracy theories perpetrated by Islamophobes and haters, it is almost with certainty that monies from halal food sales do in fact support jihad.

When looking at the five pillars of Islam, we see that the third pillar is Zakat: Giving a portion of one’s wealth to those in need, promoting generosity and social justice. This charity tax has eight types of recipients, the seventh being: “In the cause of Allah.” Generally speaking, this phrase refers to the war against the enemies of Muslims, aka infidels – any who do not submit to the will or way of Allah, their god.

Shariah Finance Watch is a project of the Center for Security Policy and helps to tie this up a little tighter:

“Zakat is a concern because, as the bipartisan 9-11 Commission Report detailed, it has in fact been used to fund Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups. Note that the following passages from the 9/11 Commission report reflect the misconception that zakat is a “strong call for charitable giving,” but the passages do detail that zakat has been used to fund jihad, including Al Qaeda.

“From page 170 of the 9/11 Commission Report:

“Al Qaeda and its friends took advantage of Islam’s strong calls for charitable giving, zakat. These financial facilitators also appeared to rely heavily on certain imams at mosques who were willing to divert zakat donations to al Qaeda’s cause.

“Al Qaeda also collected money from employees of corrupt charities. It took two approaches to using charities for fundraising. One was to rely on al Qaeda sympathizers in specific foreign branch offices of large, international charities–particularly those with lax external oversight and ineffective internal controls, such as the Saudi-based al Haramain Islamic Foundation. Smaller charities in various parts of the globe were funded by these large Gulf charities and had employees who would siphon the money to al Qaeda.”

There is much, much more regarding zakat funding jihad on this page and it extends beyond the 9/11 commission report. We urge you to click here to go to the Shariah Finance Watch webpage that contain these quotes and to check out the rest of the website as well.
