TIME SENSITIVE AND IMPORTANT

In a previous email alert, we warned that Michigan’s State Board of Education has plans to institute new “Health Education Standards.” This is an attempt to play with legal loopholes that largely do an end run around parent and clergy influence. Also, according to Salt and Light Global (SLG): “There is a clear difference in Michigan Law between ‘Health Education’ and ‘Sex Education.’ These proposed standards wrongly usurp legislative authority.” SLG continues to warn that “without regard for good governance, the State Board of Education proposes to administratively enact many curriculum changes that failed to pass the legislature as recently as last year (HB 6068 of 2024).”

On Thursday, November 13, the Michigan State Board of Education plans to vote on new health education standards (read complete draft here) for Michigan public schools. As we warned in our previous email alert: If these “Health Standards” are adopted by the Michigan’s State Board of Education, it will not only affect millions of children across the state in public and charter schools, but it will also further push the Marxist agenda in our communities as these children grow up being taught that good is evil and evil is good. Such perverted attacks on normalcy have already taken a toll on Michigan communities. If this is allowed to proceed, our children will grow up not understanding the difference between the holy and the profane and may come to believe that attacking those who stand for Biblical values is good – even if they themselves do not hold to the perverted standards being taught. Because these standards would be embedded in health classes, parents may not be able to opt their children out of such instruction, in violation of current Michigan law.

Whether or not these standards are ultimately adopted, they should not go without comment by Christians who know and honor God’s truth. Our tax dollars will subsidize this indoctrination, legitimize gender confusion, point children to a lifetime of misery, and ultimately usher them down the road to hell. Love for neighbor compels us to speak up, even though our own children or grandchildren may be in Christian day schools or homeschools.

Please sign the petition urging the state board to reject these new standards. Please also consider writing an email to each of the board members asking them to vote against the standards.

Hannah Building, Fourth Floor, Ladislaus B. Dombrowski Board Room, 608 West Allegan Street in Lansing. Discussion and adoption of the standards is scheduled for approximately 2:10 p.m.
