Biden’s America: Where Christians are Criminals

By: Lisa Van Houten

An early morning raid, 20 FBI agents with 15 vehicles surround a house with automatic rifles drawn and shields up.  We’ve seen scenes such as this play out on television countless times; tactics used to capture armed and dangerous drug dealers or murders.  But this wasn’t TV fiction and the “perpetrator” wasn’t a dangerous criminal.  However, that frightening scenario is what happened last Friday morning to Mark Houck, a Catholic pro-life advocate and father of seven young children.

Mark Houck is the founder and president of The King’s Men, which promotes healing for victims of pornography addiction and promotes Christian virtues among men in the United States and Europe.  Houck also drives two hours to Philadelphia every Wednesday to take part in peaceful sidewalk counseling at two different abortion centers.

A year ago, in October 2021, Mark Houck, along with his 12-year-old son, were in front of a Philadelphia abortion center when a pro-abortion man, who was there to “escort” clients into the abortion facility, repeatedly got in the personal space of Houck’s young son, screaming vulgarities at him. Mark’s wife, Ryan-Marie Houck, told LifeSiteNews that her husband repeatedly told the man that he didn’t have permission to speak to his son and told him to stop; when he continued, Mr. Houck then pushed the man away from his son, and the man fell to the ground.

At the time, Philadelphia authorities investigated the misdemeanor incident, but even the Democrat, George Soros-backed prosecutor chose not to file charges against Houck.  The man Houck pushed then sued Houck in civil court, but his suit was also dismissed by the judge.

Yet a year later, Attorney General Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice and the FBI dug up this minor incident and deemed it worthy of a swat-style raid.  This is in part how Mark’s wife described the 7:00 a.m., early morning raid: “They started pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it.”  Before opening the door, she explained, her husband tried to calm them, saying, “‘Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.’ But they just kept pounding and screaming,” she said.  When he opened the door, “they had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house. …The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic …”

The FBI is charging Houck with violating the Freedom of access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, a federal law that “makes it a federal crime to use force with the intent to injure, intimidate, and interfere with anyone because that person is a provider of reproductive health care,” the Eastern District of Pennsylvania U.S. Attorney’s Office stated in a press release.  If convicted, Houck faces up to 11 years in prison.

The FACE Act also applies to pro-life crisis pregnancy centers.  Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, pro-abortion extremists have attacked over 100 of these pro-life pregnancy resource centers with fire bombings, vandalism, threats, and intimidation.  Yet none of these incidents have been prosecuted under the FACE Act, with not even a single arrest.

This selective use of the FACE act, is a clear political weaponization against a harmless man, intended to send a message to all conservatives.  This raid was not just an anomaly; since Biden took office the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland has engaged in dozens of SWAT-style raids against those they see as their political enemies, including Trump ally Roger Stone and Covid vaccine critic Dr. Simone Gold.

The point of Joe Biden’s dark, totalitarian speech at Independence Hall on September 1 was to paint conservative Christians as domestic extremists.  And those efforts are working; according to a Rasmussen poll taken after Biden’s hate-mongering speech, 80% of Democrats think that Trump supporters are an extremist threat to the nation. Just weeks after Biden smeared half the country as “domestic extremists,” a 41-year-old man in North Dakota, murdered an 18-year-old boy. The killer told police he believed the teen was a “Republican extremist.”

The Biden administration is rapidly turning the United States of America into a police state, with a weaponized Department of Justice and FBI becoming a version of the KGB, abusing their powers to intimidate and silence the political opponents of the Biden administration.

We’ve seen the DOJ target parents, painting them as domestic terrorists, for speaking out at school board meetings.  Hundreds of Americans have been prosecuted and/or harassed merely for exercising their first amendment rights on January 6, 2021.  My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell was surrounded in a drive-thru by FBI agents, confiscating his phone, because he dared to question the legitimacy of the last election.  In Biden’s police state, having an opposing opinion and expressing it is tantamount to a crime.  The Biden administration is so bent on portraying conservatives as fascists, the FBI is cooking the books to make it appear that there is a dramatic increase of threats from “domestic violent extremism” (aka: MAGA Republicans) all across the nation, an FBI whistleblower revealed.  That same whistleblower also stated that FBI agents are being pulled from investigating actual crimes, such as child sex abuse cases, to instead investigate conservatives.

“This should terrify every American. … Joe Biden’s weaponized DOJ could be coming for any one of us. … Biden has made it clear that dissent won’t be tolerated, and they’re rounding up people like Mark Houck to send a message: comply or you’ll pay,” writes Paula Bolyard at PJ Media.

Ronald Reagan famously stated that “freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”  We are finding out that the same can be said about just one election, as we look at the incredible assault upon freedom and the rule of law in less than two short years under the Biden administration.  That’s why this upcoming election is so vital.

Yet even more important is to pray to the God who rules and overrules.

Psalm 37 reminds us that, “The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him, but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming.”  In the meantime, Psalm 37 also directs us in how we should respond to the evil around us: “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.”

Those are our marching orders whether or not our doors are one day knocked down and we have a rifle shoved in our face – trust the Lord and do good.
