#Love Wins…Really?

By: American Decency Staff

The statistics from this article come from The Health Hazards of Homosexuality, What the Medical and Psychological Research Reveals. This very thorough book is published by Mass Resistance and gathers its statistics from objective sources and pro-LGBTQ sources. It is very well documented with nearly 100 pages of footnotes.

We have recently mailed out the December FRONTLINE newsletter. There, one can read an article written by Lisa VanHouten which tells the history of the oppressive hijab and how Nike and Mattel are endorsing this tyranny over women through their product line. (If you don’t receive our newsletter and would like to, or you’d like to send a postcard to Nike and Mattel asking them to refrain from endorsing the oppression of women, email kimberly@americandecency.org)

Today, we’re warning about Barbie’s #LOVE WINS t-shirt and Mattel’s decision to promote an unhealthy and dangerous lifestyle among the young people in your sphere of influence. Mattel told the Daily News, “We are an inclusive brand that celebrates diversity, kindness and acceptance. We are proud to partner with Aimee Song, a top fashion influencer, and promote her t-shirt collection.”

What do Barbie’s fashion choices teach little girls? How are your children and grandchildren being influenced and propagandized? Barbie donning a hijab (Muslim woman’s head covering) propagandizes the oppression of women. Barbie and her new friend Song wearing matching “#LOVE WINS” t-shirts not only sends a message of lesbian normalization but also brings into question Barbie’s own sexual identification. Some have wondered, “Is Barbie a lesbian, just supportive, or is she bisexual?”

If Mattel really wants to “celebrate[s] diversity, kindness and acceptance” in this way, they should also warn and inform of the inherent risks which accompany the lesbian lifestyle. After all, it is NOT kindness to encourage lesbianism while neglecting to warn that chasing after this “diversity,” according to an American Medical Association 2016 study, could also entail “catching” some of the following:

“…lesbian women were more likely to report moderate psychological distress…poor or fair health…multiple chronic conditions…heavy drinking…heavy smoking…than heterosexual women…”

Mattel claims they are showing “acceptance,” but shouldn’t they also warn these easily influenced children and young people that they must also accept some inherently natural consequences? The Gay & Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) report the consequences of elevated health concerns for lesbians as being: “…increased risk for breast cancer, depression/anxiety, heart health, gynecological cancer, poor fitness, high levels of alcohol and tobacco use, and STDs.

Mattel uses a toy to “celebrate diversity,” but the truth is nothing to play around with. The 2010 “National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey,” done by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), shows that: “The Sexual Orientation Report indicates that individuals who self-identify as lesbian, gay, and bisexual have an equal or higher prevalence of experiencing IPV (intimate partner violence), SV (sexual violence), and stalking as compared to self-identified heterosexuals…Forty-four percent of lesbian women, 61% of bisexual women, and 35% of heterosexual women experienced rape, physical violence, and /or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

What is it that #LOVE WINS?  Increased opportunities for physical disease, increased emotional/psychological distress, increased suicidal tendencies, increased partner abuse, and the list of hurts and pain goes on. There are also debilitating risks that are not measurable by any study yet are more substantial and sure. 1) The LGBTQ community denies the reality of truth and of consequences, and 2) they deny the authority which their Creator has over them. These statistics, according to the Truth, comes in at 100% of those people who are rebelling against God. (This is not limited to the LGBTQ crowd.)

Mattel offers acceptance without truth; we must offer truth with the grace of acceptance.

Children are greatly influenced by what they play with and what they watch and read. Take great care in what is placed before their eyes and in their hands. Even more importantly, be full of grace and truth (Jesus was our example of this) combating the lies which surround them with the absolute truth of God’s Word. We urge you to set an example of love and truth-telling by showing that #TRUE LOVE WINS. Share the true love of God, witnessing that God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son to die for sin (theirs and ours), that believing on Him brings everlasting life and peace with a holy God, and that we become new creatures in the Savior, living holy lives to the glory of God.

Christmas is a natural time to share the gospel message. Mattel offers temporal acceptance to make a buck; we urge you to offer a celebration of unity in Christ, kindness, and acceptance. Let them know that only #TRUE LOVE WINS.

We also urge you to email or write Mattel.  Tell them that, as potential customers of not only Barbie but other of their products, you are appalled by their lack of concern for the health and well being of the children they influence. Let them know that you will not use your consumer dollars (at Christmas or any other time) to support a company that endorses and encourages a lifestyle that is proven harmful, damaging society as a whole as well as the individual. Urge them to either withdraw their #LOVE WINS campaign or to plainly tell the truth about this lifestyle and the dangers which accompany it.

As we come to the end of 2017, we look back at all of the chaos and corruption and craziness that we've seen in our nation and our world. We hope that you would agree that our ministry has shown the light of Truth into all of that darkness. If you've appreciated ADA's insights, writings, and events in the previous months, would you consider helping us finish this year out strong with a financial gift? Without the help of supporters like you, American Decency would no longer be able to inform, encourage, and exhort many readers just like you. A gift of any amount would be so appreciated. Thank you and God bless!
